Ben had his ear tubes put in yesterday morning. He was a champ. Holding him while he was given the gas to knock him out was difficult, but I knew he was in good hands. The surgery took all of about 4 minutes. His ENT said he did great and we were shocked to find out that he's been living with about a 30 dB hearing loss at least for the recent past. That's huge. Right now he's experiencing a new aural world.. he is acutely aware of his surroundings.. wind in the trees.. cars driving by.. things he probably hadn't been hearing before. He's also just so happy.. the poor guy had been living with some serious discomfort/pain and finally has his relief. We're enjoying every second.
